TUNING

I offer a Professional Piano Tuning Service for all types of pianos.
If you play the piano yourself, or someone else in your household plays, you will know the importance of keeping your piano regularly tuned.

You may have just bought or inherited a new or old piano that needs tuning for the first time. If so, contact me to make an appointment at a time that best suits you.

Pianos will either need a fine tune (if it has been tuned regularly) or may need a pitch raise to bring it back to pitch. Pianos that have not been tuned for a long time are likely to need an initial pitch raise before they can be fine tuned. This can usually be done at one appointment, but in some cases may require the Piano to be raised in pitch over a period of time.

I am available weekdays, evenings and weekends.

REPAIRS AND RESTORATION

Sometimes things don't work properly on your piano and in most cases these can repaired or replaced.

Common problems that pianos can suffer from include  piano keys that get stuck when played, piano keys that do not work at all, pedals which are not working properly, piano strings that are missing, broken piano dampers or missing parts like Piano key tops.

Small repairs can be carried out at the same time as a tuning and in some situations may be required first before a tune can be completed properly.

Book an appointment and I will be happy to look at your piano and advise you on what can be done.

REGULATION

Regulation is like giving your piano an MOT. This is often overlooked by piano players, but is an essential part of making your piano play well.

Examples of regulating the piano include, making the keys feel even (not too tight or too loose) when you play them, making sure the hammers hit the strings correctly or making sure the dampers are working properly.

Having your piano regulated can make it feel like new again, so the keys feel even and the touch is responsive and consistent.
